Steady Ascent with Consistent Effort Brad Jacobs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, a half marathon distance of 13.36 miles, with an elapsed time of 6:22:01. The journey from Charlestown, IN, to the Colorado high-altitude race presented tough elevation gains, reaching up to 14,061 feet at the finish. His pace of 28:35 min/mile placed him 1570th overall out of 2049 participants, with a 98th position in his age division (50-54). Starting strong, Jacobs held a brisk pace with a 4:41 at Ruxton and 11:36 to Hydro Street. As the elevation rose, the pace naturally decreased, with the sections between Bottomless Pit and the finish presenting the steepest challenges. Notably, the "1.5 Miles To Go" interval saw Jacobs boost his position in his division to 53rd with a swift pace, although the challenging finish trekked him back to the 98th division spot. Future races could see peak improvements by maintaining that burst from "1.5 Miles To Go".
