Tackling the Summit: Persistent Progression to the Finish JD Rowell accomplished the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an elapsed time of 5:59:49, reflecting a steady approach amidst altitude challenges. The course, covering a distance of 13.36 miles, saw JD maintaining an elapsed pace of 26:56 min/mile. Starting at the Ruxton area, JD achieved a 10:16 min/mile pace, exhibiting strong early momentum. Upon reaching higher elevations such as No Name Creek, the pace was maintained at a consistent 21:20 min/mile over 1.28 miles, demonstrating steady endurance through these challenging sections. Above the treeline, conditions became more demanding. At the A-Frame, JD recorded a 37:04 min/mile pace, a significant deceleration as they moved beyond 11,933 feet of elevation. The final stretch from 0.5 miles to finish had a pace of 45:13 min/mile, illustrating the increased challenge at nearly 14,000 feet. JD's effort resulted in solid divisional standing, finishing 116th in the O45-49 category.
