Impressive Climb to the Summit Jane Mcdougall participated in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the 13.36-mile course in 5:46:05 with an average pace of 25:54 per mile. Climbing from an elevation of 6303 to 14061 feet, she finished 22nd in her F55-59 division among 2049 participants. Starting strong, Jane clocked her fastest pace of 11:48 per mile in the first 0.43 miles at Ruxton. As the elevation increased, her pace understandably shifted, notably at Bottomless Pit with a pace of 28:51 per mile, and the final stretch was tackled at 39:28 per mile. Jane demonstrated stamina, especially in the challenging high-altitude stretches. Positions improved significantly in some stretches, notably gaining 616 places between "2 Miles To Go" and "1.5 Miles To Go". Navigation of the steeper sections showed resilience, though pacing on these steeper climbs might be a consideration for future races. Continued focus on elevation adaptation could further enhance performance.
