Strong Finish Despite Altitude Challenge Jack Packert's performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent underlines resilience and pacing in high-altitude conditions. Completing the 13.36-mile course in 2:53:21, he displayed remarkable endurance, particularly as he navigated elevations reaching 14,061 feet. Starting strong at Ruxton with a 6:22 split pace, he quickly improved his position, moving up from an initial overall position of 190 to an impressive 36th overall by the race's end. Jack clinched the 2nd spot in the O16-19 division and managed to maintain a steady pace despite the formidable increase in elevation. Although the last mile was slower, with a 17:39 split pace, his overall strategy worked well with consistent rankings in both the overall and division fields. Observably, the most challenging segments were the final miles above the tree line. Future focus on maintaining pace in the higher altitude zones could enhance his competitive edge further.
