Impressive Pace and Division Victory in High-Altitude Half Marathon Jackson Filmore, an 18-year-old runner from Gunnison, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in an impressive elapsed time of 2:48:10. Tackling the challenging ascent from 6303 feet to 14061 feet, Jackson maintained an overall pace of 12:35 per mile over the 13.36-mile course, culminating in a first-place finish in his division. His notable acceleration on the lower segments of the race helped him surge from 134th to as high as 21st overall. The ascent through the thin air was marked by a steady effort as he crossed high-altitude checkpoints. Maintaining a strong pace, his splits at higher elevations, such as Barr Camp and A-Frame, indicated strategic pacing as he encountered steeper grades and reduced oxygen levels.
