Sammy's overall time was 5:04:00 with an average pace of 22:45 min/mile. The dramatic increase in altitude from 6,303 feet at the start to 14,061 feet at the finish impacted her pace, as expected, especially above the tree line. Sammy's performance showed variance in splits, with a strong start at Ruxton (8:29 pace) and a challenging stretch between Barr Camp and Bottomless Pit, where pace dropped to 76:24. Despite the steep elevation, her placement fluctuated within competitive ranges, maintaining 23rd in her division consistently. With a notable recovery over the final mile, Sammy displayed a strong finish as she moved up from 23rd to 20th in her division. Focusing on maintaining speed through high-altitude sections could benefit future races.
