Consistent Progress with Strong Climb Performance Laurel Verant from Colorado Springs showed marked improvement at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing with an elapsed time of 3:59:17. Her pace improved to 17:54 min/mile compared to last year’s time of 4:03:07 and 18:11 min/mile pace. Laurel was ranked 12th in the F35-39 division out of 2049 total participants. Her effort through the last miles at high elevations demonstrated solid climbing capacity, especially from the A-Frame to the finish line, with her overall placement improving from 414 to 351. Key segments highlighted Laurel's strengths. At Ruxton, her initial split pace was an impressive 8:27 min/mile. While high-altitude challenges were evident, she maintained a consistent pace, reflected in her transitions from “2 Miles To Go” to the finish, where she advanced from 395th to 351st overall. A focus on pacing in the tree line sections could further enhance her next climb. Well done, Laurel, on this notable performance!
