Consistent Climbing and Strategic Pacing Frank Musick successfully completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an impressive and consistent effort. Over the 13.36-mile race, his overall time was 4:13:52 with an average pace of 19:00 min/mile. Frank made substantial gains in position, starting at 1246 overall but consistently improving through the course to finish at 492 out of 2049 participants. Frank's pacing strategy was evident in the fluctuating split paces, notably starting strong with a sub-10-minute mile pace during the first segment to Ruxton. Despite the grueling final stretch from '1.5 Miles To Go' to 'Finish', which climbed to an elevation of 14,061 feet, Frank maintained a steady rhythm, showcasing resilience in the thinning air and steeper ascent. An area for potential improvement would be maintaining his pace consistency in these final splits, which varied from 24:50 to 25:24 min/mile, as this segment proved the toughest.
