Strong Early Splits, Consistent Climb Justin Dirks completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:12:16, over a half marathon distance of 13.36 miles, finishing 480th out of 2049 participants. His overall pace was 18:52 min/mile. Impressively, Justin moved up significantly in the early stages; starting at 1081st place and gaining nearly 600 positions by the time he reached the first checkpoint at 0.43 miles. The race saw some increases in his split pace as the elevation climbed. While at Barr Camp at 7.91 miles, his split pace was 15:56, and later at the A-Frame marker at 10.29 miles, his pace slowed to 24:54 as the elevations soared above 11,000 feet. His placement held steady during the grueling final miles above the tree line. Consistency around the mid-point of the run could be a focus for maintaining momentum as you prepare for future races.
