Consistent Effort Despite Elevation Challenges Jackson Amerine completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:11:20 across a grueling 13.36 miles. Maintaining an average pace of 18:48 min/mile, Jackson placed 470th overall out of 2049 participants and achieved the 15th position in the Men's 16-19 division. Initially positioned at 210th overall at the start, he demonstrated determination by maintaining a steady performance in the face of increasing elevation and distance. Analyzing the splits, Jackson's strongest pace of 8:26 min/mile was recorded during the initial 0.43-mile segment to Ruxton, highlighting a strong start. As the course elevated, culminating at 14,061 feet, there was a significant decline in pace, particularly in the final mile at a 25:50 min/mile pace. While elevation could have contributed to the slowdown, refining pacing strategy amidst altitude-related challenges could enhance performance in future races.
