Steady Ascent with a Strong Finish Azsure Alderson from Lees Summit, MO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 6:30:41, covering 13.36 miles with an average pace of 29:14 min/mile. Starting strong, her pace was an impressive 10:25 min/mile at the Ruxton split. Progressing through the race, Azsure maintained her position in the F45-49 division, finishing in 83rd out of the division participants. The climb showed its toll with split paces slower than at the start, particularly during the "1 Mile To Go" stretch, registering a 49:36 min/mile pace at 13,329 feet elevation. However, Azsure demonstrated remarkable endurance in the final half mile, completing it in 27:41 minutes. Her steady pacing and strong finish at a high altitude exemplified her ability to maintain effort under challenging conditions. Continuing to focus on pacing in the elevation gains may further enhance performance in future ascents.
