Improved Performance with Strong Early Splits Adam Weiss demonstrated noticeable improvement in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent compared to his performance in the previous year. Clocking an elapsed time of 3:24:54 over 13.36 miles, Adam improved over 11 minutes from his 2024 result of 3:36:29, despite the challenges of the altitude ascent. His average pace was 15:20 min/mile, a significant improvement from last year’s 16:12 min/mile. Adam’s early race pacing was particularly strong. He started aggressively, achieving a split pace of 6:36 min/mile in the first 0.43 miles to Ruxton and maintaining below 13:32 min/mile up to No Name Creek (4.48 miles). His rank improved steadily from an initial placement of 638th out of 2049 participants to 136th overall at the finish. Notably, pacing beyond Barr Camp saw a progressive slowdown, a common occurrence as runners advance above the tree line towards the summit. Further focusing on steady pacing throughout the elevation gain could enhance the subsequent splits. Well done, Adam!
