Consistent Middle, Strong Finish Kate Danis, 24, from Colorado Springs, displayed an impressive performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon. With a total elapsed time of 3:36:29, she tackled the grueling 13.36-mile course with an average pace of 16:12 min/mile. With an overall position of 196 out of 2049 participants, Kate exhibited particular strength in her category, securing the 8th place in the F20-24 division and finishing 39th among female runners. Her race started strong, maintaining a sub-10-minute pace until Hydro Street, demonstrating early speed. Upon reaching 3.2 miles at the Top of W's, her pace adjusted to the challenging elevations. Notably, at Barr Camp (7.91 miles), she began to climb the ranks moving up to the 47th position among female runners. Her final mile showcased determination, completing with a 21:03 pace, solidifying her performance as she reached the Summit. Prioritizing a steady pace in future climbs may enhance her overall performance.
