Consistent Performance Maintained Under Challenging Conditions Robert Eden completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in a time of 4:58:56, covering a distance of 13.36 miles with an average pace of 22:22 min/mile. Starting from an elevation of 6,303 feet, his performance tapered predictably through the climb to the Pikes Peak summit at 14,061 feet. Notable splits include a strong start with a 9:13 min/mile pace at Ruxton and steady mid-race pacing, such as the 15:08 min/mile pace at the 7.8 Summit As elevation increased, the splits did indicate a significant decrease in pace, particularly from the 2.5 Miles To Go point at a 26:16 min/mile pace, culminating in a 50:25 min/mile pace for the final half mile. Despite these challenges, Eden placed 62nd in the 50-54 age division among 2049 participants overall. A more consistent pace during the later altitude stages could refine future race strategies.
