Steady Progression Despite Altitude Challenges Arjun Kudinoor completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 5:07:37. He started strong, rapidly climbing the ranks from 1621st to as high as 331st by the Ruxton split. His pace began at 8:16 minutes per mile for the initial 0.43-mile segment. However, as the elevation increased, so did the challenge. At 7.91 miles, reaching Barr Camp, Arjun was 1036th overall, yet he improved to 936th by A-Frame. Arjun showed determination, managing to maintain consistent movement through some of the most challenging sections. From A-Frame to the finish, the splits show gradual pace deceleration: 42:21 for 1.52 miles to A-Frame, 31:56 for the following 0.90 miles, and finishing with a 525.7-meter segment at 20:43. Arjun closed the race 1051st overall but demonstrated notable resilience at an impressive event like Pikes Peak. Future races might benefit from focusing on high-altitude training to further enhance performance.
