Steady Climb with High-Altitude Challenges Jeff Powell completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:43:34 over a 13.36-mile distance. Starting strong in 287th place overall, his early pace was brisk, clocking 10:35 min/mile to Ruxton. By "Top of W's," his performance stabilized, placing 708th overall with a 15:49 min/mile pace. Between "Barr Camp" and "Bottomless Pit," he tackled an elevation gain of nearly 600 feet and saw a dropped pace of 23:12 min/mile, landing back at 707th overall. Approaching high-altitude sections, Jeff navigated the steep path from "A-Frame" with a challenging 27:52 min/mile pace. As expected, altitudes exceeding 12,000 feet required strategic pacing, reflected in a slower 34:05 min/mile near "1.5 Miles To Go.” His final push to the summit maintained endurance, finishing the ascent at an elevation of 14,061 feet with a 32:54 min/mile pace. Consistent effort and altitude navigation were notable throughout the race.
