Consistent Performance Noted in High Altitude Race Landis Pennock completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:43:38, recording an average pace of 21:13 min/mile over the challenging 13.36-mile course. Starting strong, Landis achieved a notable 9:19 min/mile pace during the initial Ruxton section. The increased elevation and terrain complexity observed throughout the race contributed to slowing his pace, culminating in a 27:55 min/mile for the final stretch. Overall, Landis secured the 805th spot among 2049 participants, placing him 586th in the open division and 97th in his age group of 30-34. Comparing to the previous year’s performance, Landis completed the race in 4:26:56 in 2024 while maintaining a 19:58 min/mile pace, illustrating a variance in overall pace. Noteworthy is the improvement in the 1.86-mile Barr Camp segment, maintaining a consistent pace of 13:46 min/mile, indicating area of strength.
