Strong Mid-Race Performance Notable in Elevation Gain Matthew Jackson completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:08:18 with an overall elapsed pace of 23:04 min/mile over a 13.36-mile course. Starting at 1719th overall, Matthew improved his position significantly around the middle of the race, jumping from 1030th at Barr Camp (mile 7.91) to 978th during the final stretches before encountering a slight decrease to finish at 1057th overall. Despite the challenging ascent with major elevation gain from 6303 to 14061 feet, Matthew maintained a consistent effort. His split at Barr Camp was particularly commendable with a strong pace of 15:14. The last three miles showed a considerable slowing, with split paces reaching up to 32:48. Monitoring these splits can help for future strategy planning. Continued focus on maintaining a steady pace, particularly in the high-altitude sections, will aid in future runs.
