Consistent Climb Performance with Room to Tackle Final Miles Alemar Bamba demonstrated a steady performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, covering 13.36 miles in 6:28:13 with an overall pace of 29:03 min/mile. Bamba started strong, quickly advancing from position 306 to 1505 within the first 0.43 miles. The first half of the course showed consistent pacing, averaging around 22 minutes per split mile up to Barr Camp at 2:35:43. However, the last three miles proved to be a stretch requiring focus. Noticeable deceleration is evident from "Bottomless Pit," where the pace increased significantly to 49:39 min/mile. The split from "2 Miles To Go" slowed at a 38:42 min/mile pace, indicating the impact of high altitude and fatigue that set in post 12,000 feet elevation. Optimizing performance in this section could aid in reducing overall time and elevating placement in future races. Great job maintaining composure through this demanding elevation climb!
