Consistent Improvement Noted in Second Pikes Peak Ascent Erin Gooch from Colorado Springs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an elapsed time of 4:08:29, improving her previous year’s time by 6 minutes and 11 seconds. Her average pace during this challenging climb was 18:36 min/mile, reducing her previous pace by 27 seconds per mile. Erin's progress is noticeable, as she moved up slightly in the overall and gender ranks from her 2024 performance, finishing 439th overall out of 2049 participants and 341st in her gender category. Erin's strongest performances were noted in the earlier portions of the race. She reached the Ruxton split at 8:12 min/mile, placing 311th overall. As the race progressed and the altitude increased, her pace gradually slowed, evident by her 30:32 min/mile at the 1 Mile To Go mark. Her ability to maintain a more consistent pace while navigating such a steep altitude trajectory highlights a solid foundation.
