Resilient Climb to Pikes Peak Nicole Becker maintained a steady pace during the Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the challenging 13.36-mile race with a total time of 5:38:18 and an elapsed pace of 25:19 min/mile. Among 2049 participants, she finished 1298th overall, 440th among female runners, and 64th in the F40-44 division. Nicole's initial pace was strong, with an 11:06 min/mile split after the first 0.43 miles at Ruxton, signaling a promising start. Throughout the race, Nicole demonstrated solid pacing despite the increased elevation and steep gradients. Her time at Barr Camp, 7.91 miles into the race, was 2:32:59. The last 3 miles proved particularly demanding as she climbed to 14,061 feet, completing each mile in over 30 minutes. Despite the rigorous elevation gain, Nicole showed resilience and persistence, ultimately completing the race as a commendable effort for a first-time ascent of Pikes Peak. Focusing on elevation pacing might yield time improvements in subsequent races.
