Significant Improvement at High Altitude Challenge Daniel Way, competing in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, demonstrated progress from his previous race. With an elapsed time of 3:46:14 over 13.36 miles, Daniel improved his pace from 17:48 min/mile last year to 16:56 min/mile, and elevated his overall placement from 310th to 255th out of 2049 participants. His determination was evident as he moved from 39th to 27th in his age division (O40-44). During the initial segment, Daniel advanced steadily, improving his rank considerably from the start to 12.3 miles with notable splits like the 1.97-mile stretch to “Top of W’s” at a 16:18 pace. The final miles, particularly the 0.5257-mile ascent to the finish, revealed areas for refinement with a split pace of 23:48. Daniel can build on his progress from consecutive runs at Pikes Peak by targeting the final challenging ascents in future events.
