Improved Pace and Steady Climb Elevation Jeffrey Richer, 50, from Pine, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:32:03 with an impressive average pace of 20:21 min/mile. Notably, he improved upon his performance from the previous year, where he completed the same event in 5:12:34 with a 23:23 min/mile pace. His placement improved considerably, finishing 675th overall versus 982 during his previous attempt. Starting the race in 1526th place, Jeffrey steadily advanced throughout the course, particularly excelling in the middle segments. By the time he reached Barr Camp at mile 7.91, he had moved up to 687th overall. Although his pace slowed above the tree line, which is anticipated due to the grueling altitude and steep slope, he managed a consistent climb finishing in 675th place—an 11:02 average pace improvement over the last segment. Overall, Jeffrey demonstrated remarkable progress this year, showcasing his training’s efficacy and determination.
