Impressive Improvement on Pike's Peak! Maria Smead completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a remarkable time of 3:11:05, averaging a pace of 14:18 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course. This performance showed a significant improvement from her previous race time of 3:17:22. Notably, she secured the 79th place overall out of 2049 participants, 11th in her gender category, and excelled in the F Masters division by finishing first. Her steady pace, particularly given the extremely high altitude and elevation gain, was commendable. Analyzing her split times further highlights Maria's strong endurance and pacing strategy. She demonstrated impressive efficiency from the Ruxton split with a swift pace of 7:16 min/mile, maintaining a competitive position throughout the race.
