Steady Climb with Notable Elevation Gains Sarah Fitzpatrick completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:11:54, maintaining an average pace of 23:20 min/mile over 13.36 miles. Interestingly, she climbed from a start elevation of approximately 6303 feet to finish at over 14000 feet. Notably, Sarah improved her positioning throughout the race, moving from 1490th overall at the start to 1090th by the finish line. Her strongest division placement was 19th at the 1.5-mile mark. Analyzing the splits, Sarah's pace adjusted considerably with the increasing elevation, particularly in the final three miles above the tree line. Her split times show a progression from a swift 11:13 min/mile in the early phase at Ruxton to 35:13 min/mile at the finish. The race dynamics in terms of elevation change and resulting fatigue were apparent in her slower split paces towards the summit, such as the 31:20 min/mile pace recorded when just a mile from the finish.
