Steady Ascent with Strong Elevation Gains Marissa displayed a solid performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, covering 13.36 miles in 3:24:39. She ranked impressively, securing 24th position in her gender category and 5th in her division (F30-34). Starting strong, she quickly climbed to the top of the 'W's with a split pace of 13:14 min/mile. Her steadiness reflected in maintaining a consistent overall pace of 15:19 min/mile. Marissa executed a tenacious progression, navigating challenging altitudes with resilience. The climb from the 'Start' at 6303 feet to 'Finish' at 14061 feet saw her altitude gain significantly, particularly from 'A-Frame' onward. As she neared the finish line, she maintained her cadence with an increase in split times from '1 Mile To Go' (19:55 min/mile) to 'Finish' (21:06 min/mile). Emphasis on refining pace consistency in high altitude segments like the one-mile mark may further strengthen her next performance.
