Strategic Steady Ascent and Division Placement Nancy Reeves maintained a consistent performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 5:55:15, covering the 13.36-mile course with an average pace of 26:35 min/mile. Her impressive division placement was 39th out of female competitors aged 50-54. Beginning strong, Nancy started in 3rd within her division at the starting line segment, highlighting her adaptability to high-altitude conditions. Throughout the race, Nancy showed strategic pacing adjustments. Despite slower paces towards the higher elevations, such as a 39:59 min/mile pace for the final half-mile split, she successfully navigated the altitude challenge above 12,000 feet. An area of observable consistency was exceeding her median division placement in 5 out of 12 segments, particularly improving to 38th place in the penultimate segment, "0.5 Miles To Go". Continuing tactical pacing focus on different elevation segments may benefit future races.
