Consistent Elevation Climb Despite Increasing Challenge Tamar Wright completed the Pikes Peak Ascent with an overall time of 4:51:46, maintaining a consistent effort throughout her race. Her pace of 21:50 minutes per mile highlights the challenge of the high-altitude ascent. Notably, Tamar completed the initial 0.43 miles at Ruxton with an impressive pace of 8:33 per mile, securing an early position of 10th in her division. As the race progressed, Tamar navigated through increasingly steeper and higher terrains, with marked increasing splits, especially evident from A-Frame onward. Despite the evident elevation challenges—ascending from 6303 feet at the start to 14061 feet at the finish—Tamar managed to finish strong in the top 34 for her division, F45-49, amongst 2049 participants. For future races, consider strategies to maintain pace on the last mile to optimize finishing position and time.
