Consistency amidst the climb Mark Haas completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 7:05:37 over a 13.36-mile distance. His average pace was 31:51 minutes per mile. Significantly, his position shifted as the race progressed. At the start, Mark held the 21st place in his division (O60-64) but eventually finished in the 71st place in the same division, out of 2049 participants overall. Throughout the challenging ascent, Mark's pace varied. Notably, between the 7.91-mile mark at Barr Camp and the 10.84-mile mark, his pace slowed, with one of the splits at "1 Mile To Go" taking 48:42 minutes for 0.9 miles. Despite the variability in split times, Mark maintained perseverance and completed this rigorous course that reaches over 14,000 feet in elevation, demonstrating remarkable effort. Enhancing his efficiency on the steeper segments could support improved performance in future events.
