Continuous Progress in High Altitude Running Samuel Erhart completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:06:22, improving by over 15 minutes from his previous attempt in 2024. His pace progressed from 19:35 min/mile in 2024 to 18:26 min/mile in this race, demonstrating significant performance enhancement. Samuel was ranked 418th out of 2049 participants, with notable advancement in the M30-34 division, improving from 72nd to 56th place. Examining the splits, Samuel maintained a steady pace under challenging conditions, particularly the first 3.2 miles with a split of 16:50 min/mile. His most rapid section occurred in the initial segment at Ruxton, clocking a pace of 9:14 min/mile. The final three miles, including the steep ascent to 14,061 feet, were completed at a slowed pace averaging around 24:44 min/mile. While maintaining strength in higher elevations, focusing on sustainable pacing in his future races would be beneficial.
