Consistent Effort in Testing Conditions Nicole Means completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an impressive time of 4:17:42. Her average pace was 19:17 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course. Nicole ranked 528th overall out of 2049 participants and 129th in the female category. In the F20-24 division, she placed 17th, showing strong competitive performance among her peers. Starting strong, Nicole's split at Ruxton marked a quick 8:17 min/mile pace, but unsurprisingly, the pace slowed as the elevation and slope increased. The course presented substantial elevation gain, starting at 6,303 feet and finishing at an altitude of 14,061 feet. Notably, Nicole increased her placement significantly from "2.5 Miles To Go" to "1.5 Miles To Go." While she maintained consistent effort, analyzing her pacing strategy in the higher altitudes may help enhance her performance in future runs. Her ability to push through the most challenging sections truly highlighted her determination and endurance.
