Notable Progress Through Half Marathon Mountain Ascent Ali Alzainaldeen from Colorado Springs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:27:35, covering 13.36 miles. He began strong, improving his position from 1474th at the start to 621st at the finish out of 2049 total participants. His initial split at Ruxton was promising, clocking in at a brisk 9:42 pace. As the elevation increased, the paces naturally slowed, particularly in the final stretches above 12,000 feet. Ali demonstrated effective pacing strategy, shown by his consistent improvement in the standings up to "Barr Camp," reaching up to 524th place. Split times above the tree line highlighted the challenges of altitude, which saw pacing decelerate significantly, particularly after the "7.8 Summit." Despite this, maintaining overall standing is commendable in those challenging final miles. For future races, focusing on improving splits in the final segment may further enhance overall performance.
