Impressive Pikes Peak Ascent Performance Boost Aaron Rasmussen, aged 39 from Morrison, CO, demonstrated remarkable progress in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon. Covering 13.36 miles with an elevation rise to over 14,000 feet, Aaron clocked an elapsed time of 3:48:14, resulting in an average pace of 17:05 min/mile. Noteworthy, Aaron improved significantly from his performance in the previous year, reducing his time by over 23 minutes and moving up in overall placement from 425th to 276th out of 2049 participants. Analyzing the splits, Aaron showed strong performance during the early stages, notably climbing from 1302nd place at the start to 455th by the 3.2-mile mark, "Top of W's". Elevation challenges led to a slowdown, with steeper pace checks above the tree line. His dedicated progress became evident in the latter parts, diligently maintaining an upward trend in rankings post the 10.29-mile "A-Frame" section, concluding the race at a high altitude, showcasing his resilience against challenging conditions.
