Marshall's Impressive Improvement on Pikes Peak Marshall Prescott, from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:02:56, achieving an overall pace of 18:11 min/mile. He ranked 380th overall out of 2049 participants, 296th within his gender group, and 41st in the O40-44 age division. Reflecting a stronger performance compared to his previous year, Marshall significantly improved his pace from 19:28 min/mile in the 2024 edition to 18:11 min/mile this year. Analyzing his race splits, Marshall started strong, recording an 8:21 min/mile pace by the Ruxton segment. As the course altitude increased, his pace understandable slowed with the challenging terrain. For instance, at the 10.84-mile mark ("2.5 Miles To Go"), he maintained a pace of 24:18 min/mile. Notably, his overall time demonstrates a substantial personal improvement, shaving off over 17 minutes from his previous ascent. Continued focus on challenging mid-course segments would further boost his impressive performance.
