Consistent Performance Uphill Reid Rector completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 3:42:23, averaging a pace of 16:38 min/mile over 13.36 miles. Starting strong, Reid maintained a solid pace, ranking 10th in his division at the initial stage. His splits showed a notable early pace of 8:01 min/mile at Ruxton and adjusting to 9:26 min/mile by Hydro Street. A remarkable effort saw him ascend over 6,000 feet, his performance peaking as elevation increased significantly beyond Barr Camp. He displayed impressive endurance, evidenced by his steady placement shifts, culminating in 22nd in his division for age 40-44. Strategies to work on may include focusing on the steepest segments: reaching A-Frame, the pace dropped to 19:15 min/mile, slightly decelerating until the finish at 21:42 min/mile. Maintaining a consistent speed in high-altitude terrain should be the next focus to further refine his performance.
