Consistent Improvement and Strong Finish Reece Hein from Colorado Springs improved his performance this year at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon. Reece completed the 13.36-mile trail run in 3:35:05, trimming nearly 3 minutes from last year's 3:38:34. Achieving an overall pace of 16:05 min/mile compared to last year's 16:21 min/mile, Reece moved up six positions to finish 190th among 2049 competitors. Reece's steady pace was evident, with notable time improvements at various points along the course. At the "Top of W's" segment, Reece managed a 14:36 pace over 1.97 miles, and several other segments saw reduced times as well. Remarkably, in the section with 1.5 miles remaining, Reece climbed in position significantly, reaching 76th place overall momentarily. For future races, sustaining momentum in the final miles could produce even more impressive results. Analyzing splits presents opportunities to focus on maintaining quick paces in the latter part of the race.
