Steady Progression and Strong Finish Alejandro Rodriguez displayed a consistent effort in elevation gain from 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. Starting from 1,704th overall, Alejandro improved his standing to 1,212th by the finish. His performance in the 16-19 age group also exhibited a steady position, finishing 24th—a commendable effort for someone facing the significant altitude challenge. Early segments such as the Ruxton split were marked by impressive pace at 11:19 min/mile. Noteworthy was the increase in split times at the higher elevations—A-Frame (35:27 min/mile) and final stretch (34:49 min/mile). However, maintaining an average elapsed pace of 24:26 min/mile is a testament to his endurance. Alejandro’s improvement from the bottomless Pit to A-Frame positioned him better overall and suggests his strength in tackling difficult sections. Future focus on high altitude segments and maintaining pace might yield further performance benefits for Alejandro.
