Remarkable Age Group Performance Chris Beaupre delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the 13.36-mile course in 5:42:43 hours with a pace of 25:39 min/mile. Chris showed exceptional grit and determination, particularly in the challenging sections above the tree line. Notably, Chris secured the 3rd place position in the O75-79 age division, a testament to endurance and consistent pacing throughout the ascent. Analyzing the race segments, Chris demonstrated strong initial momentum, clocking a 11:09 min/mile pace at the Ruxton section. However, the elevation gain began to influence the pace around the 3.2-mile mark at the Top of W's, where things slowed to 21:02 min/mile. The most significant challenge came at the Bottomless Pit, with a pace of 43:36. Despite the fatigue of high altitude in the final miles, overall placement and division standing remained commendable. Consider focusing on maintaining consistent paces during steep climbs in future events.
