Impressive Pace Improvement in High Altitude Challenge Louis Brooks, a 35-year-old athlete from Centennial, CO, participated in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent and completed the half marathon with an elapsed time of 3:29:58, achieving an overall pace of 15:42 min/mile. Louis ranked 159th overall out of 2049 participants, and 24th in his division (O35-39). This marks a significant improvement from his previous performance at the 2024 Pikes Peak Ascent, where he finished with a time of 3:41:46 and an overall pace of 16:35 min/mile. Analyzing his splits, Louis showcased a strong start, moving from around 1620th place at the start to 186th by the Ruxton split within the first 0.43 miles. He maintained consistent placement until the high-altitude segments, especially notable as he moved from 165th at Barr Camp to 142nd at the "1 Mile To Go" mark. Maintaining strength through the race, focusing even more on pacing in those final steep miles could offer continued performance enhancements.
