Steady Pacing with a Strong Finish at High Altitude Amber Greco, at age 50 from Bonita Springs, FL, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an elapsed time of 5:57:43. She maintained an impressive average pace of 26:46 min/mile over 13.36 miles, finishing 1425th overall out of 2049 participants. Notably, Amber placed 502nd in gender and 40th within the F50-54 division. Starting strong, Amber covered the initial 0.43 miles at a brisk pace of 11:21 min/mile. Her pacing showed a calculated strategy to handle the altitude gain, evident in the split from Bottomless Pit to A-Frame where the pace reached 52:58 min/mile over 1.52 miles. Despite the challenging conditions above tree line, Amber completed the final 0.5257 miles at 48:01 min/mile. Focusing on consistent pacing throughout the climb, especially during the steepest sections above 12,000 feet, might enhance performance in future events.
