Shane's Consistent Climb in the Rockies Shane Reiner completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a time of 6:05:18, achieving an average pace of 27:20 per mile. Starting strong, Shane initially stood at 955th overall and 54th in his division at the beginning of the race. Throughout the course, his position evolved, managing to finish 1477th overall, with an impressive 92nd place in his age division of 50-54. Shane experienced fluctuations in his pace, noticeable from the speedy 14:01 per mile at the first split, “Ruxton,” slowing down to more than triple that pace at the grueling “Bottomless Pit” split. Nevertheless, there was a notable acceleration during the final stretch where his pace improved to 30:14 per mile. His steady performance amidst the steep ascent is commendable, though working on maintaining faster splits in lower altitude sections could enhance his overall race strategy.
