Consistent Climb: Strong Performance at High Altitude Noah McColl from Salt Spring Island, BC, delivered an impressive showing at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. Completing the half marathon in 3:03:20, Noah maintained an average pace of 13:43 min/mile. He finished 59th overall out of 2,049 participants and secured 9th place in his age division (35-39). Beginning at an elevation of 6,303 feet, Noah's initial pace at Ruxton (0.43 miles) was 6:57 min/mile. As the elevation climbed to 14,061 feet at the finish, Noah demonstrated perseverance, adapting effectively to steeper sections and higher altitudes. His pace gradually adjusted, reaching 21:40 min/mile in the final half mile to the summit, indicative of the increasing course difficulty. Notably, Noah maintained a strong position throughout, improving significantly from his initial start position. For future ascents, focusing on transitions between split sections might minimize fatigue and further enhance performance.
