Consistent Strength on a High-Altitude Ascent Daniel Griffin completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in a time of 3:47:40, holding a steady elapsed pace of 17:02 min/mile across the challenging 13.36-mile course. His strategic approach allowed him to finish 270th overall out of 2049 participants and 41st in his division. The elevation gain, from 6303 to 14061 feet, was a significant factor in his performance, notably during the final push above the treeline. Daniel showed a strong start, progressing from 1298th position to 607th by Hydro Street. While his pace slowed later in the race due to increasing altitude, his rankings steadily improved, reaching 258th with 0.5 miles remaining. The transition from "Top of W's” to "No Name Creek" saw a consistent pace below 16 minutes per mile. Maintaining consistent pacing in challenging conditions highlights Daniel's resilience. Continuing to build on these strengths will lead to even more competitive performances in future high-altitude events.
