Strong Early Pace with Opportunities for Late-Race Gains Devin Farrell tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with a final time of 5:33:18 over 13.36 miles, maintaining a consistent pace throughout the various elevation challenges. Devin started strong, capturing a 11:32 min/mile split at Ruxton, demonstrating a solid opening stride. Despite this promising start, the high-altitude and steep climbs exerted considerable influence, culminating in a 35:03 min/mile pace by the Finish. Comparing this performance to the 2024 Pikes Peak Ascent, where Devin finished at 5:19:20, there was an increase of over 14 minutes in the latest event. The race featured several sections with notable time increases, such as a 31 to 36-minute split on the final mile. While Devin placed 42nd in the O60-64 division, a closer look at key moments, especially the latter stages above 12,000 feet, might reveal targeted areas for refining strategy and pacing in future races.
