Determined Ascent to New Heights Eric Conner, 48, from Saint Louis, MO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:32:16, achieving an impressive 105th place in his division (Men 45-49). Starting strong, Eric clocked an 11:16 min/mile pace at Ruxton, then skillfully maintained his effort as the elevation increased. His splits consistently showcased his ability to handle increasing difficulty, with his split times ranging from 10:06 at 6649 feet (Hydro Street) to 39:49 at 10250 feet (Barr Camp). The final ascent push, challenging due to both the 14061-foot summit and fatigue, saw Eric strategically navigating a range of split paces. Notable efforts include maintaining a 30:35 min/mile pace at "2.5 Miles To Go" and finishing the last mile at a 34:43 min/mile pace. Throughout the event, Eric improved his position, overcoming the taxing climb and altitude, demonstrating focus and determination on this demanding course.
