Consistency Across Tough Terrain Craig Hafer completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5 hours, 18 minutes, and 38 seconds. Covering 13.36 miles, he maintained an average pace of 23:51 minutes per mile. Starting strong at a pace of 11:14 per mile at Ruxton (0.43 miles), Craig experienced consistent performance throughout the race. His placements, both overall and in the 65-69 division, demonstrated steady ranking, finishing 23rd in his division. As Craig tackled the ascent, his time at the 7.8 Summit was 1:59:09 with a pace of 19:40 per mile. Notably, his pace remained remarkably stable between Barr Camp and Bottomless Pit, despite the increasing altitude and elevation change. In the final stretch, the last half-mile to the finish at 14,061 feet resulted in a pace of 36:07. Craig's ability to manage substantial elevation gains underlines his endurance and pacing strategy in this demanding race environment.
