Consistent Performance and Strong Finish at High Altitude Cody Koontz completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an overall time of 3:34:51, setting an impressive pace of 16:04 min/mile over a challenging 13.36-mile course. Starting off strongly, Cody quickly moved from the start position of 802 to the 45th spot by the Ruxton checkpoint with a rapid 6:21 min/mile pace. Despite increasing fatigue and elevation, he maintained an admirable position throughout the race against 2049 participants. The climb from 6000 to 14000 feet presented a tough test, but Cody's split times revealed consistent pacing even in high-altitude conditions. The final stretch showed determination with a finish split of 23:26 min/mile at 14061 feet. Noteworthy is his climb from the "2 Miles To Go" checkpoint to finishing strong at the summit, where his positioning improved among his peers, finishing 31st in his division. Enhancing speed in early segments could further elevate his performance.
