Significant Improvement in High-Altitude Ascent Robert Klein delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the 13.36-mile course in 4:51:01 with an elapsed pace of 21:46 min/mile. This marked a notable improvement from his previous year’s time of 5:14:21, shaving off over 23 minutes. Starting strong with a 14:49 min/mile pace at Ruxton, he maintained a steady pace as the elevation increased, reaching 14,061 feet at the finish line. His ranking rose significantly, placing 888th out of 2049 participants overall, improving from his 996th place last year. Notably, his efficiency improved as he ascended higher, culminating in a meaningful advancement in his finishing place, attaining 64th place in his division compared to 37th in the previous division. While the high altitude posed challenges, Robert exhibited consistent pacing and resilience, particularly noteworthy in the last challenging miles above the tree line. Kudos to his determination and adaptive strategies in this high-altitude race.
