David's Consistent Battle Against Altitude David Goodstein, at 64, completed the grueling 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 6:04:24. The race, spanning 13.36 miles, had an average pace of 27:16 min/mile. Notably, his early segments displayed stronger pacing, with a swift start of 9:58 min/mile at Ruxton, significantly ahead of the final split pace of 44:57 min/mile. Elevation gain played a crucial role, with his performance steadying as altitude increased. Throughout the ascent, David's overall and age group places fluctuated; he showed initial strength at Hydro Street, moving up to 15th in his division.
