Steady Ascent to the Summit Allison Sylte, 34, from Denver, tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with determination, completing the 13.36-mile course in 4:47:37. Starting strong, Allison rapidly improved her positions from 1013 to 695 by the Hydro Street mark, maintaining a smart pace of 9:42 per mile in the initial segment. While her climb to the Top of W's saw her split pace drop to 19:45, her overall progress was steady amid rapidly increasing elevation. The latter portion of the race, especially past Barr Camp at mile 7.91, tested endurance and resolve, with increasing split times such as 42:01 at A-Frame. Allison persevered, even though the final steep ascent resulted in a slower pace of 31:27 at the finish. Notably, she climbed the rankings considerably in the last mile, moving from 797 to 843 in the overall standings. Such tactical progression highlights good pacing strategy and resilience through progressively challenging terrain.
